Ohio has approximately 16,000 children in foster care at any given time.
Children are born into their circumstances by chance, not by choice. For some, the conditions are so dire that they end up in foster care. Before entering care, many kids miss out on what childhood should be…joyful, loving, supportive, and full of potential. Some are removed from their homes with only the clothes on their backs.
Hope’s Closet provides material needs for foster children in a bright, inviting boutique.
Foster parents are the most selfless volunteers, and they often face steep and unique challenges. Our society relies on willing, well-intentioned foster parents to provide care for children in desperate situations. Retaining foster parents is often easier than recruiting new ones, and studies show that community support is key to retention.
Hope’s Closet offers a suite of foster parent support programs and activities designed to build community and provide resources.
